What is Xtract™?
Faucets with Xtract™ technology deliver great-tasting filtered water and regular tap water from a single faucet, 2X faster than typical water filter products, Xtract™ uses GE 2X High Flow Filtration which reduces contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, chlorine, and lead.
How Xtract Works

Pfister®'s innovative engineering team has developed a unique filter solution that is activated through the faucet handle. The faucet functions like any other kitchen pull-down faucet. In addition, it dispenses cold filtered water by pushing the handle back.

The GE filter cartridges are equipped with a "twist & lock" mechanism. To attach and remove, simply twist on and off.

How do I know when the filters need to be replaced?
It is recommended to replace the filters every 6 months under normal usage conditions.

Where can I purchase replacement GE filter cartridges?
Replacement filters can be purchased at select home improvement centers or online. For more information please visit www.gewaterfilters.com.

How do I change the filter cartridges?
The GE® filter cartridges are equipped with a “twist & lock” mechanism.
To remove, simply twist the cartridge clockwise and then pull the filter down. To insert the new cartridge, twist counterclockwise until the cartridge is locked.

Can this faucet dispense warm and hot filtered water?
No. This filter system filters water from the cold water supply line only.

Why is the faucet not dispensing filtered water all the time?
Limiting the filter mode to only drinking water use extends the filter life.

Water Pfacts
Your faucet is not connected to a glacial spring.
While a lot of our water does come from streams and rivers, the channels in which it flows may also run past urban cities, inustrial factories, and farms using pesticides.
Treatment plants can't do it all.
While wastewater plants send incoming wastewater through a thorough treatment and disinfectant process before releasing, they do not actually detoxify pesticides. Xtract removes pesticides from tap water.
Coffee
Beverages like coffee and tea can have stronger flavors and decreased steeping times when made with filtered water.
Bottled H20
In contrast to the EPA’s tap water requirements, the FDA cannot require certified lab testing or violation reporting of bottled water.
Healthy Plants
Some studies show that plants can survive longer in a vase of filtered water than unfiltered (weeks in some cases).
Cooking
Foods that show noticeable differences when cooked with filtered water are pastas and rice, which cook faster and have a creamier texture.
Filter pitchers can't catch select pharmaceuticals, pesticides, lead, or mercury-Xtract can.
Bottlers, some of which simply repackage tap water, do not typically treat or test for pharmaceuticals.
Gas can cost on average $3.51/gallon. Bottled water can cost up to $10/gallon!
