  • 1910 Beginnings

    Price Pfister was founded by Emil Price and William Pfister and introduced the garden faucet as our very first plumbing product.

  • 1920 Expanding Product Line

    The product line was expanded to include a variety of plumbing fixtures such as bathroom and kitchen faucets, valves, and hose nozzles. In this same period, the innovative Adjustable Swing Spout with a convenient soap dish was introduced.

  • 1930 Shower Innovations

    Price Pfister invented “Make a Shower”, the first product to give homeowners an easy way to convert their bath in to a shower.


    During WWII, Price Pfister produced military items such as aircraft fittings and hand grenade shell and hired women who had entered the work force.

  • 1950 Becoming a Household Name

    We unveiled the Crown Jewel line, renowned for being easier to install, more functional and durable than competitive faucets. The line gained widespread popularity and helped establish Price Pfister as a household name.

  • 1960 Introducing the Single Control Shower Handle

    We created the Flow-Matic shower handle featuring the innovative single control lever, allowing homeowners to adjust both water temperature and volume with a single handle.

  • 1970 Design Innovation

    Price Pfister introduced stylish translucent colored handles and special finishes such as bronze, which were popular in the 1970s bathroom.

  • 1985 The Pfabulous
    Pfaucet with
    the Pfunny Name

    We launched the “Pfabulous Pfaucet with the Pfunny Name” TV advertising campaign. The memorable tagline became a featured question on the 2008 Jeopardy game show and is still remembered today.

  • 1989 Teaming up with Black & Decker

    Price Pfister proudly joined the Black and Decker family, America’s leading makers of power tools and appliances.

  • 1990 Making Pull-Out Faucets Accessible

    Making kitchen pull-out faucet accessible to every household, Price Pfister was the first company to offer affordable pull-out faucets in the retail market.

  • 1994 IntroducingThe Pforever Seal

    Price Pfister was the first manufacturer to use ceramic cartridge technology on all of our product lines. The innovation led to the industry’s first lifetime guarantee against leaks and drips, trademarked as the Pforever Seal.

  • 1996 Pforever Pfinish

    Price Pfister introduced the scratch-resistant Pforever Pfinish which guaranteed to never tarnish, corrode or discolor. At the same time we also announced the first affordable luxury finishes - stainless steel and brushed nickel.

  • 1997 Introducing the Industry's 1st Integrated Filter

    The Pfister Pfaucet redefined the entire water filter industry by integrating a filter into the spout of the faucet, combining purified water and instant convenience.

  • 1997 The Industry's1st Lifetime Warranty

    Price Pfister was the first major manufacturer to offer a lifetime warranty which guarantees finish and function for life.

  • 2000 Winning the Best New Product Award

    We were awarded “Best New Product” by Today’s Homeowner magazine for the revolutionary faucet installation system, Twistfit, which reduced widespread lavatory faucet installation time by 50%.

  • 2000 Two Legends Coming Together

    Price Pfister and Kwikset merged into the newly created Black & Decker Hardware and Home Improvement group. A modern campus in Lake Forest, California opened its doors and two legends came together, united under one vision: Leadership in quality, innovation and style.

  • 2006 Introducing the Industry's 1st Volume Control Sprayhead

    The Anti-Splash Volume Control Sprayhead was introduced as the industry’s first volume control sprayhead, featuring easy water volume adjustment and ergonomic toggling between spray and stream modes all in the palm of a hand.

  • 2007 Partnering for a better future

    We were one of the first companies to partner with the Environmental Protection Agency to create water efficient faucets that help conserve water and protect the environment.

    Each WaterSense certified products are engineered to reduce water consumption by 30% and meet the highest efficiency standards.

  • 2008 Industry’s 1st Wallmount Trough Faucet

    Kenzo Wallmount, the industry’s first wallmount trough faucet, is the recipient of professional Remodeler Award for “50 Most Innovative New Products 2008”.

  • 2008 Taking the Lead in Lead-Free Initiatives

    Price Pfister developed a full line of lead-free products that meet the new standards set forth by California AB1953 / Vermont S152 Legislations, which limit the amount of lead to a maximum of 0.25% on wetted surfaces.

  • 2008 Custom Designs Delivered in Just 8 Weeks

    Price Pfister introduced PFISTER Custom Faucet Solutions to the hospitality market. Our world class industrial design combined with a flexible manufacturing model delivers custom designs in just 8 weeks.

  • 2010 New & Improved Drain Assembly

    Price Pfister introduced a new and improved drain assembly that takes the hassle out of drain installation. No tools are needed to install Push & Seal and it is easy to use and service.

  • 2010 Price Pfister Becomes Pfister

    We updated our brand and changed our name to Pfister. Building on our 100 year heritage and tradition of innovation, the new branding focuses on the Pfister experience and strategically positions us for growth.

  • 2011 Elevate™ EXT Raises the Bar

    Pfister introduced Elevate EXT, the first adjustable height pull-out kitchen faucet available at retail. Elevate EXT features a unique adjustable spout with three height settings, from eight inches, for a compact look with minimal splashing, to 11 inches for washing large pots and allowing extra clearance.

    Tub & Shower

    Pfister’s innovative Universal Tub & Shower Kit gives homeowners an easy way to install a new tub & shower faucet without having to tear down the shower wall. The upgrade kit is compatible with 8 commonly installed valves from Pfister™, Delta® and Moen®.

  • 2012 Pfister Joins Spectrum Brands

    Pfister proudly joined Spectrum Brands, forming the new Spectrum Brands Hardware and Home Improvement group.

  • 2014 React™ Touch-
    Free Technology

    Faucets with React™ technology offer touch-free convenience by following your commands with the wave of a hand, offering a new level of simplicity and convenience in your kitchen.   • 2014 Secure Pfit™

    SecurePfit is a revolutionary new way to install tub and shower trim that delivers an incomparable feel and aesthetic. In this new configuration the handle threads directly to the valve cartridge for significant structural rigidity, a smooth and solid handle feel and a clean flush look.

  • 2015 Design Innovation:
    Integrated handle

    For the first time a faucet handle is integrated into the whole to create a single, fluid form. After the successful launch of the integrated handle concept with the popular Indira model, additional models were quickly added to meet consumer demand.     Pfister faucets with Xtract technology deliver great-tasting filtered water and regular tap water from a single faucet, 2X faster than typical water filter products. Xtract uses GE® 2X High Flow Filtration which reduces contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, chlorine, and lead. Learn More

  • 2015 PermaBalance™

    This valve represents a large jump forward in tub and shower valve technology. With a new brass stem, a more flexible install depth for shallow wall installations, and a high precision spool balancing unit, the PermaBalance™ valve is Pfister’s best in-wall valve yet. It is also one of the first valves to pressure balance down to flow rates as low as 0.5 gpm.
